Mile Creek Park in South Carolina

Our week at Mile Creek Park in Six Mile, SC was wonderful, even though the weather definitely was not! Fortunately, we’ve been there before, camping on the shores of beautiful Lake Keowee, hiking at nearby waterfalls, and sightseeing around gorgeous Lake Jocassee. This time, though, we had dreary, rainy, and windy weather almost the entire week. ☹ BUT, we had something fantastic to offset the weather—two sets of friends, the Story family and the Butlers, who live in the area, and the Shanks who drove in from the coast for the weekend!

We had so much fun and fabulous food over several meals together! One rainy morning we ran some errands and toured the Pickens County Museum, housed in the old county jail, with so much historical info. We love learning about the locales we visit! Another morning, we took a side trip to Cornelia GA where Tom met with one of his clients for some in-person TomStar Services training. That’s much better than Zoom! And on Sunday, we worshipped where one of our friends is the senior pastor at Crossgate Church in Seneca. We missed getting out on the lake in our friends’ boat due to rain and high winds, but we got a true raincheck which we will indeed redeem next time! All in all, a wonderful week with friends beats any activity even in the best of weather. 😊
