Duhu Lake Recreation Site is in British Columbia near the Alaska Highway. It’s a free rustic camping area provided by the BC government. It’s dry camping in the wilderness and it was a great stop for us on our trip to Alaska.
Collier-Seminole State Park lies partly within the great mangrove swamp of southern Florida, one of the largest mangrove swamps in the world. The park, at over 7,200 acres, features vegetation and wildlife typical of Florida’s Everglades. Collier-Seminole State Park is a beautiful place with both temperate and tropical native plant communities and a great place to enjoy some of Florida’s unique scenery.
Curry Hammock State Park is a quiet oasis in the Florida Keys. It’s located on US 1 and at just under 1,000 acres it’s the largest uninhabited parcel of land between Key Largo and Big Pine Key. The park has a beautiful sandy beach that faces the Atlantic Ocean. Sunbathing, swimming, kite surfing and enjoying the spectacular views are favorite activities.
Mile Creek Park is a beautiful county park in northwestern South Carolina. The park is on beautiful Lake Keowee and every campsite is either lake front or lake view. The morning was cool and the mist was rising off the water as the sun came up.
One of the first concerts Stacie and I went to as dating teenagers was The Charlie Daniels Band at the Hollywood Sportatorium. This video was produced by Charlie Daniels Jr. and is a breath of fresh air to some of the less than patriotic sights and sounds we see on the evening news.
