Yesterday we celebrated THREE YEARS of our See My America adventure! Actually, the last year and a half has been See My Florida—we’ve looped the state about three times from Pensacola to Key West to Fernandina Beach and many, many towns in between. Who knew that Arcadia has spectacular, colorful sunsets? Or that Broward County boasts an RV tropical oasis, Easterlin Park, in the heart of Ft. Lauderdale? We grew up there, and so did the park, but we never knew!
Our bigger news is that we have just landed in Fernandina Beach, our new hometown!! We moved out of the RV into a rental apartment and hope to build our small house after hurricane season (and before the next one)! Our RV HOME is stored nearby and we are prepping it for sale later this summer. Yes, tears have been shed about this move, but they are more happy than sad. We’re excited to grow roots in our new community! And we’ll definitely get another RV, something smaller for smaller trips, because we’ll always be RVers. See My America, Part 2, will commence when we eventually really retire! 🙂
Three immediate things that I’m enjoying about our move are the bathtub, dishwasher and luxury toilet paper! Tom’s three are his full-sized desk and office space, a warehouse workshop, and QUIET air conditioning!
To commemorate the anniversary, we did a local sunrise and sunset chase! We took coffee and donuts to the beach for sunrise at 6:22 am, then back home to work our day jobs, then to historic downtown for sunset over the Amelia River at 8:30 pm. Did we mention that we love it here?!
Come visit us! We don’t have a guest room yet, but we have floorspace for air mattresses if you’re game for that adventure. 😉 And we’re just 15 minutes east of I-95, so plan a break when you’re driving north or south!
For now, join us on a rewind tour of our magical week in the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park by clicking here. Fair warning, though, there are a LOT of memories so it’s a LONG post!
From our full hearts, we thank you again and again and again for following, encouraging, and welcoming us on our See My America Road Trip of a Lifetime over these three years. It has been epic!
To God be the GLORY!
Stacie & Tom 🙂
